Reminders.

Do you ever wonder why repetition is so important?

I am really forgetful.

I know that God loves me. I know that I am never alone. I know that I can be forgiven of my sins through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. I know that obedience brings blessings. I know that I will regret eating an entire cake by myself.

But sometimes.. I forget.

We know these truths to be true but sometimes we lose sight of them when we are caught up in the craziness of everyday life.

"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O REMEMBER, REMEMBER that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."
-Mosiah 2:4

Here are a few quotes from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf that I love to review, these are doctrines we shouldn't forget.

• Do you suppose it matters to our Heavenly Father whether your makeup, clothes, hair, and nails are perfect? Do you think your value to Him changes based on how many followers you have on Instagram or Pinterest? Do you think He wants you to worry or get depressed if some un-friend or un-follow you on Facebook or Twitter? Do you think outward attractiveness, your dress size, or popularity make the slightest difference in your worth to the One who created the universe? He loves you not only for who you are this very day but also for the person of glory and light you have the potential and the desire to become.

• There may be some among you who feel darkness encroaching upon you. You may feel burdened by worry, fear, or doubt. To you and to all of us, I repeat a wonderful and certain truth: God’s light is real. It is available to all! It gives life to all things. It has the power to soften the sting of the deepest wound. It can be a healing balm for the loneliness and sickness of our souls. In the furrows of despair, it can plant the seeds of a brighter hope. It can enlighten the deepest valleys of sorrow. It can illuminate the path before us and lead us through the darkest night into the promise of a new dawn.

I hope each of you remember how precious you are in the sight of God.

-Em
